Hit the Beach
White sand, crystal blue waters and stunning cliffs, Cornwall is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and, we might be biased, but the best ones are on our doorstep.
Famous Fistral with picture-perfect surf, beautiful Constantine Bay near Padstow with sweeping sand dunes, quiet and crystal clear Mother Ivey’s with unrivalled views of the Lifeboat Station and Lusty Glaze, a secluded cove that was named Britain’s Best Beach by The Sunday Times, are all well within a 20 minute drive.
Plus good news for dog owners, the majority of beaches near us are dog-friendly – so there’s no need to leave part of the family behind.
We love the walk around Trevose Head, stopping at the lighthouse for sea views as far as the eye can see and for an ice cream or hot chocolate from Enid’s Ices, the cute, retro ice cream van tucked away at the top of Booby’s Lane. Nearby Crantock Bay is also one for the “must-visit” list – perfect for kite-flying and rock pooling!
Whilst you’re at the beach, why not unleash their inner adventurer and book them onto a surf lesson or a coasteering trip? Cornwall is all about the great outdoors and not only will they be well worn out after playing in the water all day, they’re guaranteed to have a giant grin on their face!
If your little daredevil would rather stay on dry land, a brand new skate park that’s been dubbed the best in the UK has just opened in Newquay, or take a look at our pick of extremely fun things to do here…if you’re brave enough!
See the Sights
Cornwall has become the one of the UK’s top tourist destinations and that means that there’s a family attraction for every day of the week! DairyLand Farmworld, Blue Reef Aquarium and Camel Creek Adventure Park are ideal for little ones, packed full of family fun and all just a short drive away.
We’re also perfectly placed to visit world-famous attractions; explore the largest indoor rainforest at The Eden Project or discover the once-hidden Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are lots of fun-filled activities for all the family and the kids will love running around in the great outdoors! If you’d rather not venture too far from your holiday home, read on to discover all our wonderful onsite activities.
Burn off Energy
Come rain or shine, Cornwall is known for its outdoorsy, adventurous vibe. Challenge them to get to the top at Indoor Active, Cornwall’s newest and biggest clip ’n’ climb centre at Cornwall Services, or take a trip to Heartlands near Redruth for state-of-the-art exhibitions, climb-on sculptures, gardens of real diversity and a giant adventure playscape for kids. You’ll all be left worn out but happy at the end of the day.
With top class entertainment schedules during school holidays including theatre-style shows, some of the country’s top cabaret acts, entrancing magicians, bingo with cash prizes, live bands and even an ex X-Factor contestant, there’s something onsite for all the family to enjoy. Little ones will be wowed by our ultra-talented entertainment team who set the stage alight every week with live shows, or they can dance the night away with Pirate Pete himself at the Pirate Pete’s welcome party.
The Atlantic Reach kids club, dedicated to keeping them entertained whilst you kick back and relax, is always a hit with football games, raft building, arts, crafts and outdoor fun and games galore.
Let them climb around our safe and fun outdoor play parks, run riot in Pirate Pete’s soft play area or splash about in one of our swimming pools. All entertainment, kids club activities and access to our state-of-the-art facilities is fully inclusive for all Atlantic Reach holiday guests who have either booked directly through us with an Atlantic Reach Leisure Pass.
