The 7 types of people you’ll find on holiday
Wherever you head for your hols, there’s simply no escaping some of your fellow guests! Any of these sound familiar?
1. The Lovey-Dovey Ones
Canoodling at dinner and kissing by the pool, these tourists take PDAs to a whole other level! They’re probably on their honeymoon, but there are only so many over-the-top, sunset smooch selfies we can stomach…
Most likely to be spotted…Being yelled at to “get a room!”
2. The Obsessed-With-Instagram One
Becoming ever-more popular, these tourist types are the ones that just won’t stop until they get the perfect aesthetics for their holiday snaps. They’ll claim that they’re definitely not hipsters, but their vinyl collection, Ray Bans and dungarees say otherwise.
Most likely to be spotted…Rearranging mini plants, smoothies and cutlery around so their brunch looks #instagoals
3. The Over-The-Top One
A full blown holiday agenda, pins in destinations on maps that you didn’t even know existed and links to public transport timetables saved on their phone – this holiday-maker pulls no punches when it comes to touristing.
Most likely to be spotted…With their head in a map, wearing socks and sandals (for practical reasons) and plotting their next mini adventure.
4. The Sunburnt One
This vacationer is the one that gets a little too over excited about being on holiday, forgets to apply the Factor 50 and runs to the beach/pool instantly before falling asleep in the sun. The result? Some very painful, red-raw sunburn and a bit of mockery from every one else in their group.
Most likely to be spotted…Queueing up for Aloe Vera in Boots.
5. The Over Prepared One
A simple day out at the beach turns into a right mission for this holiday-maker; a cool box slung over one shoulder packed full of snacks and drinks for the whole family, a windbreak under one arm, a pile of towels on their head, a pop up tent in one hand, dragging a bodyboard behind them with the other…But you know that whatever you’ve forgotten to pack for yourself, they’ve got you covered.
Most likely to be spotted…Buying more supplies from the local supermarket, “just in case.”
6. The Relaxed One
From the moment they arrive, this type of tourist doesn’t move far – if much at all! – during their holiday. Whether it’s lounging by the pool, napping on the sofa or propping up the bar, this tourist is so laid-back they’re (literally) horizontal.
Most likely to be spotted…Snoozing by the pool.
7. The Poser One
Skimpy swimwear and a mahogany tan so dark it would rival your nan’s dining table, this tourist is always the centre of attention and loves to spend most of their time strutting around the pool.
Most like to be spotted…Checking out their own reflection in their sunglasses.
